Dear colleagues,

The purpose of the meeting is to improve our diagnostic skills for malignant lymphomas and lymphoproliferative disorders and to deepen our understandings of them. The lecturers will be expected to address the routine problems and the update topics in the field. Each lecture will run for about 60 minutes including the question and answer session.

The slide seminar will continue for about four hours on the second day of the meeting. The lecturers will focus on the typical and rare cases. You will be able to microscopically examine them at the venue. We will offer you English and Japanese handouts of about 80 pages in advance of the meeting and a CDROM of power point presentations for all the lectures and the seminar cases at the check-in counter.

Hamamatsu is a local city with a population of over 800,000, being situated on the Pacific Ocean side with easy access by Shinkansen bullet trains and almost the same distance both from Tokyo and Osaka. It is well known as a manufacturing center for musical instruments, motorcycles and precision tools. It is proud of its natural beauties such as a big sandy beach where sea turtles lay eggs, and the beautiful lake Hamana.

The venue, Hamamatsu local information center, is within 15 minutes’ walk from the Hamamatsu station. You will have a great time going around the city, enjoying local specialties, and visiting the Kanzanji spa and the lake. You can also visit the musical instrument museum nearby the venue. Late October is one of the best seasons to visit here.

Our hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Hamamatsu city. Our patients are treated with devoted care by our staff following the Christian principles of late Tamotsu Hasegawa, the founder of the hospital. The staff will welcome you with warm and special hospitality at the check-in, the meeting room, and the reception.

Please register at our office as early as possible since we can afford limited seats, less than 100, for participants. Please join us and enjoy the wonderful course by excellent lecturers!

I am looking forward to meeting you in Hamamatsu.

                       Yours most sincerely,

Hiroshi Kobayashi, M.D.&Ph.D.
