Rights and Obligations of Patients


1 Regardless of your personal background or the nature of your illness, you have the right to receive the medical care you need.
2 You have the right to a fully understandable explanation for the "contents of the medical treatment" and "its risks and possibility of recovery. However, at the discretion of the attending physician, we may speak to a family member or surrogate.
3 About "treatment," "examination," or "other medical treatment", you have the right to "choose and decide" or "refuse" based on one's own will, after receiving "sufficient explanation" and "provision of information.
You will not be disadvantaged in any way by your refusal.
4 To ensure that you receive convincing treatment, you have the right to seek an opinion (second opinion) from a physician other than your attending physician.
If you wish to see "another doctor" or "other medical institutions", we will provide necessary material.

Your personal information obtained in the course of medical treatment will be protected.
Also, you have the right to request "information disclosure" or "explanation" regarding "your treatment," "examination," and "other medical treatment.
6 If you feel your above rights have been infringed upon, or you have any doubts, you have the right to express your opinion.
7 In order to receive quality and safe medical care, you have "the responsibility to provide your health information to medical personnel as accurately as possible and to participate and cooperate in your own treatment.
8 In order to ensure that all patients receive appropriate medical care, you have "the responsibility to take care not to interfere with the treatment of other patients or the provision of medical care by hospital staff" and "the responsibility to observe hospital rules.
